Counted by safari, not by spend

Every safari you take with us counts as one. From your nth the reduction applies to our own charges, and it grows with each return rather than resetting. Park fees are never discounted — they are not ours to discount.

We count trips rather than money deliberately. A budget joining safari counts exactly as much as a private one, because what we are marking is that you came back, not what you spent when you did.

Separately, couples travelling on a wedding anniversary are treated as we treat honeymooners: we write to every camp on your itinerary in advance and ask. Requested, never guaranteed.

Why we count trips

A loyalty scheme that is not a points scheme

Most travel loyalty is a spend calculation with a marketing name on it. Ours is a count. If you came back, that is the whole qualification, and the person who chose the shared vehicle qualifies at the same rate as the person who chartered the aircraft.

It also means we know your file. By a second or third safari we know which camps you liked, what you photograph, how early you actually want to leave in the morning, and who to put you with. That is worth more than the percentage, and it is the real reason to come back to the same operator.

For anniversaries the mechanic is different: it is not a reduction, it is a request. We write to each property with the date and what it marks, and we tell you what came back before you travel rather than promising you something a camp has not agreed.

Terms & conditions

  1. Applies to our own charges only. Park entry, the Ngorongoro conservation levy and the crater descent fee are set by TANAPA and the NCAA and are never discounted.
  2. A safari counts once it has been travelled, not once it has been booked.
  3. The count follows the lead traveller on the booking. State whether it transfers to a partner travelling separately.
  4. State whether the return reduction combines with the early-booking or last-minute offers.
  5. Anniversary treatment is requested at each property in writing and is not guaranteed. State which anniversary years you mark and what proof, if any, you ask for.
  6. Offers apply to new bookings only and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  7. One offer per booking. Offers cannot be combined with each other unless we say so in writing.
  8. Subject to availability at the time of booking. An offer does not hold a camp or a seat — a deposit does.
  9. Park and conservation fees are set by TANAPA and the NCAA and are never discounted. Any saving applies to our own charges.
  10. We reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time. A booking already confirmed keeps the terms it was confirmed on.
