Camps are generous to honeymooners when somebody asks on your behalf. Very few operators bother to ask.

Additions, rather than a discount

Travelling within six months of your wedding, we request honeymoon treatment at every camp on your itinerary and add a private dinner, a bush breakfast, a portrait session and sparkling wine on arrival ourselves.

This is worth saying plainly: upgrades are requested, not guaranteed. A camp with twelve tents cannot promise a better one in August. What we can promise is that we will ask, in writing, at every property, and tell you what came back before you travel.

How this actually works

We ask. Most operators don't

Safari camps and beach hotels almost all have some form of honeymoon gesture — a room upgrade when one is free, a private dinner, a bottle on arrival, a bed dressed for the occasion. Almost none of it is published, because none of it can be guaranteed.

It is released on request, from the operator, in advance. An agency that has resold your booking twice is not making that call. We do it for every honeymoon we book, at every property, and we tell you what was confirmed and what was declined.

The most valuable single thing, in our experience, is not the upgrade. It is a private dinner away from the mess table on one night, which almost every camp will do if asked a fortnight ahead.

We write to each property on your itinerary with your dates and the occasion, and pass on exactly what each one confirms.

A private dinner

One night away from the communal table, laid somewhere better. The addition camps agree to most readily.

Breakfast taken out into the park after the first drive, on a morning your guide picks for the light.

Room upgrade where free

Requested at every camp, confirmed only where a better room is genuinely unsold. Never promised in advance.

Your guide takes a proper portrait of the two of you, somewhere worth standing, and sends the files afterwards.

A bottle waiting at your first camp, from us rather than from the camp, whatever else the camp agrees to.

Terms & conditions

  1. Upgrades and in-camp gestures are requested on your behalf and confirmed by the property, not by us. We will tell you what was agreed before you travel.
  2. We ask for a copy of your marriage certificate at booking. The wedding must fall within six months of your arrival date, before or after.
  3. Additions have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for a discount.
  4. Offers apply to new bookings only and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  5. One offer per booking. Offers cannot be combined with each other unless we say so in writing.
  6. Subject to availability at the time of booking. An offer does not hold a camp or a seat — a deposit does.
  7. Park and conservation fees are set by TANAPA and the NCAA and are never discounted. Any saving applies to our own charges.
  8. We reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time. A booking already confirmed keeps the terms it was confirmed on.
