This policy was drafted from how the website is built, not from a template. The marked items are the ones that depend on how the company operates rather than on the site — fill those in, and have a lawyer read the whole thing before it goes live.
Who we are
Places of Africa Safaris is a tour operator registered in the United Republic of Tanzania, with its office in Arusha. For any question about this policy, or to ask what we hold about you, write to info@placesofafricasafaris.com.
Registered company name and registration number, and the postal address in Arusha.
What this website collects
The website collects personal information in one place only: the enquiry form. When you complete it we receive the safari type, destinations, dates, party size, budget range and any special requests you tell us, together with your name, email address, telephone number and country.
The newsletter box collects an email address and nothing else.
We do not ask for passport numbers, payment card details or any other sensitive information through this website. If you are asked for those at any point in a booking, it will be by direct correspondence with us, never through a web form.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use what you send in order to answer your enquiry and, if you go on to book, to arrange the trip — which means passing the parts that are necessary to the camps, lodges, park authorities and airlines on your itinerary. That is the basis on which we hold it: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then to perform it.
We use a newsletter address only to send the newsletter, on the basis of your consent, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Your details are shared with the accommodation providers, park authorities, domestic airlines and ground operators on your specific itinerary, and only to the extent each needs them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Name the form service that receives the enquiry form, and the email provider that hosts the mailbox — these are your data processors and must be named here.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Booking records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law in Tanzania requires.
State the actual retention periods you apply — for example, unconverted enquiries deleted after 24 months, booking records kept for 7 years.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Write to info@placesofafricasafaris.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking of visitors between sessions.
It does load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to a Google server and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Nothing else on the page talks to a third party.
If you later add analytics, a booking engine, a chat widget or an advertising pixel, this section has to be updated and a cookie banner added. The green chat bubble currently visible on the site is a browser extension, not part of the website — confirm you are not planning to add a real one without telling us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will change the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting people who have already booked will be sent by email.
