The discount is the smaller half of the benefit. The larger half is that the good camps are still open.

Book ahead, and pay less for it

Book more than n months ahead of departure and we take 00% off our charges — the guiding, the vehicle, the transfers and our fee. Park fees are excluded because nobody can discount them.

Peak season on the northern circuit is June to October, and the small camps that make a safari — eight to twelve tents, inside the park boundary — sell out nine to twelve months ahead. By March, a July trip is being built from what is left rather than what is best.

Why this one is worth most

The discount is not the point

Every operator runs an early-booking discount, and most guests treat it as a modest saving on a fixed product. On a Tanzanian safari in high season that is the wrong way round.

The product itself changes with how early you book. A crater-rim lodge, a mobile camp within reach of the Mara River in August, a family unit at a small camp over the school holidays — these are finite and they go first. The discount is a bonus on top of getting the trip you actually asked for.

The one caution: book early, but book the right month. If your dates fall in the long rains we will tell you before you take a discount on a trip you will not enjoy.

Terms & conditions

  1. The discount is calculated on our charges only, never on park, conservation or crater descent fees.
  2. Booking date means the date we receive your deposit, not the date of your enquiry.
  3. State whether the discount survives a date change, and what happens on cancellation.
  4. Offers apply to new bookings only and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  5. One offer per booking. Offers cannot be combined with each other unless we say so in writing.
  6. Subject to availability at the time of booking. An offer does not hold a camp or a seat — a deposit does.
  7. Park and conservation fees are set by TANAPA and the NCAA and are never discounted. Any saving applies to our own charges.
  8. We reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time. A booking already confirmed keeps the terms it was confirmed on.
