How many people will be in the vehicle?+
Up to seven, and often fewer. The extended Land Cruisers we use seat seven passengers plus the guide, with a pop-up roof so everybody can stand for photographs. Every seat is a window seat — there is no middle row of three. A departure runs from four travellers, so on quieter dates you may end up with far more room than you paid for.
Is the safari itself any different from a private one?+
No. Same parks, same fees, same licensed guides, same camps, same roads. What differs is the clock: departure times and how long you linger at a sighting are decided for the group. If you want to sit with one leopard for two hours, book a private vehicle.
What if the departure does not fill?+
Departures run from a minimum of four travellers. If a date falls short we will offer you the nearest alternative or refund everything you have paid, deposit included. We confirm or cancel no later than 30 days out, so you are never left guessing.
Am I charged a single supplement?+
Not on the shared tier. Solo travellers share a twin tent or room with another traveller of the same sex, which is how the price stays where it is. If you would rather have your own, the supplement is quoted at booking — typically 30 to 40 per cent on the accommodation portion.
Who else will be on it?+
Usually a mix — couples, solo travellers and pairs of friends, most often between their late twenties and early sixties, from a dozen different countries. Everyone gathers in Arusha the evening before for the briefing. We do not run age-segregated departures.
Are park fees really included?+
Yes, at the tariff current when you travel. Park entry, the Ngorongoro conservation levy and the crater descent fee are roughly a third of what you pay us. TANAPA and the NCAA revise these annually, and if they rise between your booking and your departure we absorb the difference rather than invoice you for it.
Can I extend afterwards?+
Most people do. Zanzibar is the common one — a direct flight from a Serengeti airstrip or from Arusha, then three or four nights on the coast. Kilimanjaro climbs also join on the day after most safari departures end. Tell us at booking and we will line the dates up.
What is the accommodation like?+
Comfortable tented camps and mid-range lodges: en-suite bathroom, proper bed, hot water, full board. Not luxury, and honestly described — you are buying the parks, not the pillow. Where a departure uses a public campsite rather than a permanent camp we say so on the date itself.
