Work with us

We hire Tanzanians, we pay salaries rather than day rates, and we promote from the workshop and the mountain crew upward.

How we hire

Salaried, local, and promoted from within

Guiding in Tanzania is commonly seasonal day-hire, which is why quality is so uneven and why good guides leave. We employ ours on permanent contracts, and we would rather train a promising assistant for two years than rent an experienced guide for a fortnight.

Formal qualifications matter for guiding — a TANAPA licence is not optional, and Mweka training counts — but for every other role we care more about attitude than paperwork.

Confirm which roles are genuinely open before publishing; the four below are examples of the format.

No open role that fits?

Send us your CV anyway. Most of our current guides started as assistants or in the workshop, and we would rather know who you are before we need you.
