The Gift of Africa

OFF-07 · Places of Africa Safaris

The gift of Africa

A contribution toward somebody else's safari, redeemable against anything we sell, for whatever amount you choose.

Offer OFF-07

A voucher, not a package

A gift voucher is a credit against any Places of Africa safari, valid for 24 months from the date of issue. The recipient chooses the trip; the voucher covers part of it and the balance is payable at the rate current when they book.

We deliberately do not sell gift trips. Nobody should be given a fixed itinerary and fixed dates as a surprise — leave, health, and who they want to travel with are all theirs to decide. A voucher gives them the money and the choice.

How it works

Three steps, no expiry surprises

You choose an amount, we issue a numbered voucher with the value and the expiry printed on it, and it can be redeemed against any safari, climb or island package we sell. Multiple vouchers can be combined toward one trip.

We will write to the holder eight weeks and again two weeks before it expires. A voucher that quietly lapses is not a gift, it is a fee, and we would rather remind somebody twice than keep their money.

It is a common wedding or milestone-birthday gift where several people contribute — tell us if that is the plan and we will issue one voucher and take contributions against it, rather than making the couple juggle seven codes.

$250 Contribution

Toward a park fee day or an internal flight.

$500 A day on safari

Roughly one day of a classic-tier safari for one person.

$1,000 A short safari

A meaningful share of a six-day northern-circuit trip.

Any amount Choose your own

Above the $250 minimum, in any amount you like.

Vouchers are issued in US dollars and sent the same working day.

Terms & conditions

  1. Vouchers are redeemable against our charges and against park fees, and are treated as payment on account.
  2. Not exchangeable for cash, in whole or in part, and no change is given on a partial redemption — the remaining balance stays on the voucher until expiry.
  3. The balance of any trip is payable at the rate current when the booking is made, not when the voucher was bought.
  4. If the recipient cancels a trip paid partly by voucher, the voucher value goes back onto the voucher for the rest of its validity rather than being refunded in cash.
  5. We will remind the holder in writing before expiry. Lost vouchers can be reissued against the original purchase.
  6. Offers apply to new bookings only and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  7. One offer per booking. Offers cannot be combined with each other unless we say so in writing.
  8. Subject to availability at the time of booking. An offer does not hold a camp or a seat — a deposit does.
  9. Park and conservation fees are set by TANAPA and the NCAA and are never discounted. Any saving applies to our own charges.
  10. We reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time. A booking already confirmed keeps the terms it was confirmed on.

Buying for somebody?

Tell us the occasion and the amount and we will issue it the same day, printed or digital. If several people are contributing, we can hold one voucher open for them.
